God's Big Plan

God's Big Plan

Problems Come . . .
We seek God . . .
God Helps . . .
We Are Thankful . . .
Others See Us.

They Have Problems . . .
They Seek God . . .
God Helps Them . . .
They Are Thankful . . .
Others See Them.

Problems Come . . .
Seek God . . .
Receive Help . . .
Be Thankful . . .
God's Big Plan.

As I read Psalm 22, I thought about how we fit into God's plan for eternity--the meaning of eternal life. Verses 19-24 reveals that God intervenes (saves us) in the perils of life on earth so that we can testify of His love and care here on earth. We praise Him so that people on earth will recognize God as the Lord of His creation, the one who draws us to Him through His creation.
We have an appointed time to dwell on earth but an eternal time to dwell with God in Heaven. All of God's children, the chosen, sealed with the Holy Spirit are bound together in the love of God in Christ Jesus through life and death on earth and eternal life in Heaven. Yes, the body, the old house that limits us to a particular time and space is not eternally with us--thank God! We are free in death to live without the bonds of earth.
We live in the hearts and minds of all who know us here on earth--the saints of God. We're only memories to those who are not bound for eternity, but we live now and forever in those who are looking forward to that day when Jesus returns to earth and joins the new body with the Spirit--a body like that of Christ himself without physical limits.
Until then, we go on singing songs and praising God together among both the living and the dead in Christ. We rejoice as those who do have hope not as the lost who have no hope.
Let us praise God, joining with our loved ones who have gone to eternity before us.

Obama's Future America

Sent: Tue, 7 Apr 2009 12:17 pmSubject: Article by Pam Geller . . . . easier version to read!]
FLAVOR00-NONE-0000-0000-000000000000 ; A family member emailed me this....it's an eye-opener. Then on the news this morning, they talked about one of the summit meetings that our president attended - where the suggestion that the entire world go to a "global-curency" to help us all recover from the recession. Downright scary. If you didn't already know - Sweden is now implanting microchips with a persons entire medical & social history in - get this - placed in a person's right hand, or on their forehead - as it is the easiest place to scan & recharge it{it recharges essentially thru sunlight}. (do you remember the story from Revelation about the mark of the beast? If not - you need to read it!! It will show you just how close we are)I know in the US it is now available for our 'beloved pets' (not mine!!) - how long before we are demanded to have it as a citizen? I don't think it will be that much longer - are you ready???--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am a student of history. Professionally, I have written 15 booksin six languages, and have studied history all my life. I thinkthere is something monumentally large afoot, and I do not believeit is just a banking crisis, or a mortgage crisis, or a creditcrisis. Yes, these exist but they are merely single facets on avery large gemstone that is only now coming into a sharper focus.
Something of historic proportions is happening. I can sense itbecause I know how it feels, smells, what it looks like, and howpeople react to it.. Yes, a perfect storm may be brewing, butthere is something happening within our country that has beenevolving for about 10 - 15 years. The pace has dramaticallyquickened in the past two.
We demand and then codified into law the requirement that ourbanks make massive loans to people whom we know could never payback? Why? We learned recently that the Federal Reserve, which haslittle or no real oversight by anyone, has "loaned" two trilliondollars (that is $2,000,000,000,000) over the past few months, butwill not tell us to whom or why or disclose the terms. That is ourmoney; yours and mine. And that is three times the $700B we allargued about so strenuously just this past September.
Who has this money? Why do they have it? Why are the termsunavailable to us? Who asked for it? Who authorized it? I thoughtthis was a government of "We the People," who loaned our powers toour elected leaders. Apparently not.
We have spent two or more decades intentionally de-industrializingour economy. Why?
We have intentionally dumbed down our schools, ignored ourhistory, and no longer teach our founding documents, why we areexceptional, and why we are worth preserving. Students by andlarge cannot write, think critically, read, or articulate. Parentsare not revolting, teachers are not picketing, and school boardscontinue to back mediocrity. Why?
We have now established the precedent of protesting every closeelection (now violently in California over a proposition that isso controversial that it wants marriage to remain between one manand one woman. Did you ever think such a thing possible just adecade ago?). We have corrupted our sacred political process byallowing unelected judges to write laws that radically change ourway of life, and then mainstream Marxist groups like ACORN andothers to turn our voting system into a banana republic. To whatpurpose?
Now our mortgage industry is collapsing, housing prices are infree fall, major industries are failing, our banking system is onthe verge of collapse, Social Security is nearly bankrupt, as isMedicare and our entire government. Our education system is worsethan a joke (I teach college and know precisely what I am talkingabout.) The list is staggering in its length, breadth, and depth. It is potentially 1929 x 10.. And we are at war with an enemy wecannot name for fear of offending people of the same religion whocannot wait to slit the throats of your children if they have theopportunity to do so.
And now we have elected a man no one knows anything about, who hasnever run so much as a Dairy Queen, let alone a town as big asWasilla , Alaska . All of his associations and alliances are withreal radicals in their chosen fields of employment, and everythingwe learn about him, drip by drip, is unsettling if not downrightscary (Surely you have heard him speak about his idea to createand fund a mandatory civilian defense force stronger than ourmilitary for use inside our borders? No? Oh, of course. The mediawould never play that for you over and over and then demand heanswer it. Sarah Palin's pregnant daughter and $150,000 wardrobeis more important.)
Mr. Obama's winning platform can be boiled down to one word:Change..Why?
I have never been so afraid for my country and for my children asI am now. This man campaigned on bringing people together, something he has never, ever done in his professional life. In myassessment, Obama will divide us along philosophical lines, pushus apart, and then try to realign the pieces into a new anddifferent power structure. Change is indeed coming. And when itcomes, you will never see the same nation again.
And that is only the beginning.
I thought I would never be able to experience what the ordinary, moral German felt in the mid-1930s. In those times, the savior wasa former smooth-talking rabble-rouser from the streets, about whomthe average German knew next to nothing. What they did know wasthat he was associated with groups that shouted, shoved, andpushed around people with whom they disagreed; he edged his wayonto the political stage through great oratory and promises.Economic times were tough, people were losing jobs, and he was agreat speaker. And he smiled and waved a lot. And people, evennewspapers, were afraid to speak out for fear that his "brownshirts" would bully them into submission.
And then he was duly elected to office, with a full-throttledeconomic crisis at hand [the Great Depression]. Slowly but surelyhe seized the controls of government power, department bydepartment, person by person, bureaucracy by bureaucracy. The kidsjoined a Youth Movement in his name, where they were taught whatto think. How did he get the people on his side? He did itpromising jobs to the jobless, money to the moneyless, and goodiesfor the military-industrial complex. He did it by indoctrinatingthe children, advocating gun control, health care for all, betterwages, better jobs, and promising to re-instill pride once againin the country, across Europe , and across the world.
He did it with a compliant media - Did you know that? And he didthis all in the name of justice and. change. And the people surelygot what they voted for. (Look it up if you think I amexaggerating.)
Read your history books. Many people objected in 1933 and wereshouted down, called names, laughed at, and made fun of. WhenWinston Churchill pointed out the obvious in the late 1930s whileseated in the House of Lords in England (he was not yet PrimeMinister), he was booed into his seat and called a crazytroublemaker. He was right, though.
Don't forget that Germany was the most educated, cultured countryin Europe . It was full of music, art, museums, hospitals, laboratories, and universities. And in less than six years - ashorter time span than just two terms of the U. S. presidency - itwas rounding up its own citizens, killing others, abrogating itslaws, turning children against parents, and neighbors againstneighbors. all with the best of intentions, of course. The road toHell is paved with them.
As a practical thinker, one not overly prone to emotionaldecisions, I have a choice: I can either believe what theobjective pieces of evidence tell me (even if they make me cringewith disgust); I can believe what history is shouting to me fromacross the chasm of seven decades; or I can hope I am wrong, closemy eyes, have another latte and ignore what is transpiring aroundme.
Some people scoff at me; others laugh or think I am foolish, naive, or both. Perhaps I am. But I have never been afraid to lookpeople in the eye and tell them exactly what I believe - and why Ibelieve it. I pray I am wrong. But, I do not think I am.

IN GOD WE TRUST
Everybody that is on this mailing list is either a senior citizen,is getting close or knows somebody that is.
Most of you know by now that the Senate version (at least) of the"stimulus" bill includes provisions for extensive rationing ofhealth care for senior citizens. The author of this part of thebill, former senator and tax evader, Tom Daschle was creditedtoday by Bloomberg with the following statement.
Bloomberg: "Daschle says health-care reform "will not be painfree. "Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions thatcome with age instead of treating them."
If this does not sufficiently raise your ire, just remember thatSenators and Congressmen have their own healthcare plan that isfirst dollar or very low co-pay which they are guaranteed theremainder of their lives and are not subject to this new law if itpasses.
Please use the power of the internet to get this message out. Talkit up at the grassroots level. We have an election coming up inone year and nine months. We have the ability to address andreverse the dangerous direction the Obama administration and itallies have begun and in the interim, we can make our voicesheard! Lets do it!
If you disagree, don't do anything.

Lutcher Stark High School 45th Reunion, 2009

To travel back to a place in our past for a high school reunion is a method of time travel that lifts no questioning eyebrows. Although the path is found in the present physical realm, the mind finds itself in a quite different realm. The mind seems to experience a sense of skipping over years of life unlived when renewing such old friendships. All of a sudden, we're facing people who have changed so much that we don't immediately recognize them. People who were a part of our daily lives for many years have matured, become adults with children and grandchildren. Not only do we not recognize their faces, we don't know how they became who they are today. We've missed their lives, and they've missed ours.

Spring Break Brings Spring

We thought that we might be freezing on spring break, but the weather gave us a spring in our steps as we left church this morning. The sun was shining and Robert & Paul fired up the grill for great, homemade hamburgers. We love being able to see our grandchildren and look forward to spring break to be able to travel west to see the youngest grandchildren. The drawback this spring is that our first great granddaughter is back home visiting her grandmother, our daughter. Oh well, can't have it all at one time. We'll be seeing her in a few days, watching her giggle and wiggle while we "coo" and cuddle her. God is good to us even as we are all dreading Suzanne's sixth surgery. Blessings are not always dressed in pleasure, sometimes in pain.
